basin bar co-founder Enrique Wegel, “the grand master juicer,” as he’s known in the neighborhood, is Peruvian born with European roots. His German and Hungarian heritage was cultivated in his mother’s gourmet shop, the world famous “Lecheria La Merced.” Raised on exotic juices and smoothies (papaya, granadilla, lucuma), fresh muesli parfait is also an extension of his discernible palate, that he has translated into the basin bar menu.

Educated and sensitive in-house nutritionist and raw chef, Sarah Lockenmeyer, Integrative School of Nutrition, NYC, is available for private basin bar consultations. basin bar’s newest addition, Raquel Gonzalez, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, now an Asbury Park resident, is a trained culinary chef.
